Lawyer manages her Law Firm from Hospital Bed
These days working from home is being on reported more and more. With the massive take up of the internet, mobile web and applications like messenger, twitter and online collaboration tools, the concept of not needing an office, or being able to work from anywhere is becoming more common. There are whole lifestyles and forums dedicated to not just working from home but working from anywhere.
What about from Hospital. By working from hospital I mean from your hospital bed, not as a doctor, nurse, or employee of the NHS / hospital ?
Jelina Berlow- Rahman is currently awaiting a kidney transplant and has been attending the Glasgow Royal Infirmary three days a week for the last 4 years, writes the Sunday Mail. Additional credit is due to Scottish Legal News who we picked the story up from
The article follows that she was given permission to do this by ‘legal watchdogs’ & under the rules of owning your own practice, you need to perform a minimum of 20 hours a week. The only thing she hasn’t been able to use is her mobile phone as it may affect her dialysis machine.
Now we can’t guarantee you will get to speak to or deal with a Lawyer from hospital – we really rather hope you don’t, though a lot more lawyers are working remotely these days.
We also wish Jelina Berlow-Rahman the very best and speedy recovery. Whilst we don’t know much about dialysis, having an organ replaced is serious and we sincerely hope she is successful. We look forward to writing to this effect one day soon. We aren’t the only people who think she is superb example of business heroism, she recently won the Barclays Trading Places Award, publicly named as a business hero.
If anyone has any comments or knows of anymore heroes, expecially withing a legal sphere, please do get in touch or write a comment below. You can also follow us on twitter as an additional way of communicating
Update : You can find Jelina Berlow Rahman’s law firm JR Rahman online at their/her website
