Merry Christmas – is it humbugs? No – Divorce Vouchers
Family and Divorce lawyers have generally been a mixture of professional and a necessary (though wish it wasn’t so) lot providing varying levels of legal advice. The Telegraph reports today on an interesting and media grabbing ploy by London based Family law firm Lloyd Platt & Company.
From £125 + vat (15% today, 17.5% as of Jan 1st 2010) you can buy a Divorce voucher. The Telegraph reports the firm has sold 54 in the last 3 weeks. The divorce voucher entitles the user to 30 minutes or an hours legal advice
So – what is this – money grabbing? headline grabbing PR? A much needed service ? Just the way the world and legal profession is moving? Let us know your thoughts
We think it would be rather nice if a marriage and relationship guidance councelling company could provide similar vouchers. Maybe they could offer a freebie, or a cheaper voucher for longer – say £50.00 for an hours marriage guidance – introduce some competition or vague price comparison into the market? If you are a marriage guidance councellor, get in touch or write a comment below and we’d love to speak to you about your service – all in the name of balance of course. Similarily if you offer divorce or family law service, we’d love to speak to you
If you’d like to speak to a family solicitor or law firm that specialises in divorce, see if our legal panel can help – apply on line here
Otherwise, I hope everyone is getting on with the rather less serious task of building up to the weekend and the holiday & festive season ahead
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all
